Amanda Coldridge b. 1973
Amanda Coldridge is a contemporary ceramic artist based in the Cotswolds. Her practice is rooted in close observation of the natural world, where seasonal change, lunar cycles and the quiet transformation of time find expression through sculptural ceramics.
Working from her garden studio, Coldridge draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape and from natural materials and surfaces gathered around her — wild clay, weathered bark, stone, fungi, moss, feathers and other foraged elements. Through an instinctive and experimental approach to making, she explores texture, form, material transformation and the passage of time.
Her journey in clay began more than twenty years ago. She launched her work publicly in 2024 with two solo exhibitions with Bamford in the Cotswolds and Mayfair, London, and her work was subsequently acquired by galleries and private collectors internationally. In 2025 she began exhibiting with Joanna Bird Gallery in London, and in 2026 her work was represented at Collect, the international fair for contemporary craft and design at Somerset House, London.
Beauty and joy — for both the maker and the beholder — are integral to her ethos. Her work seeks to capture moments observed or felt, creating objects that hold traces of memory, landscape and lived experience.
