Andrew Geeson

Overview

Based in North Leicestershire, Andrew Geeson originally studied art at Southampton in the late 80’s, specialising in botanicals, before moving to Derby as part of an illustration studio where he produced a wide range of work for publishers and advertising clients. He later joined Simon Girling & Associates as a freelance illustrator, where he worked with a number of clients including Enid Blyton's daughter on her mother's back catalogue of work, including the Noddy books, as well as on Wallace and Gromit and other eclectic titles.
He changed artistic routes around ten years ago to dip his toes into watercolour painting, given that he particularly liked the looseness of the watercolour style, and enveloped this into his artistic practice. Since then, he has taught extensively in the UK and across Europe, and has a substantial following on social media, with over two hundred and fifty thousand people following his work, and over sixty-six thousand subscribers to his YouTube channel where he delivers loose watercolour tutorials for beginners. He paints every day come rain or shine, and can often be found brushing off his plein air skills somewhere particularly picturesque in Europe.
